The Summer of 2007 was a sad one for us.
On June 17, 2007 Roger lost his Dad, Kenny Courtain, to Jakob-Cruetzfeld Disease, only two and a half weeks after being diagnosed with the fast moving neurological disease. He died in his home, with his wife Esther near him. We miss him dearly. For more information on CJD, go to www.cjd.org. Kenny was 81 years old.
Just five short weeks later on July 29, 2007 Keri’s Mom, Marilyn Stone, died unexpectedly in her sleep. She was visiting relatives in Colorado, in a beautiful setting in the mountains of this gorgeous state she loved so much. She died just a few miles from where she was born. Part of Marilyn’s ashes were spread at Deer Peak, Colorado on August 5, 2007. Subsequent to her death, it was discovered that her death was tragically avoidable. The prescription heart medication she was on to help keep her alive, actually killed her. It was manufactured incorrectly by the pharmaceutical company, and in effect poisoned her to death.
We lost the two most important people in our lives that summer. We’ll do our best to keep their memories alive.
